About Us
A robot mower is a four-figure purchase that either fits your lawn or doesn't. This site exists to make that a question of numbers rather than marketing.
Why this site exists
Most robot mower coverage online is a rewritten press release with a buy button attached. The specifications that decide whether a mower will actually work on your lawn — coverage rating, maximum gradient, navigation type, runtime-to-charge ratio — are buried, inconsistent, or missing entirely.
So we built the site the other way round. Every model is a record in a specification database with the same fields filled in the same units. The pages you read are generated from that database. When you compare two mowers here, you are comparing like with like.
How we score
Every model gets a score out of 10 on six criteria:
- Cut quality — the finish it leaves, blade system, consistency across the season.
- Navigation — coverage efficiency, pattern quality, how it copes with obstacles and passages.
- Slopes — rated gradient, drive layout, real-world traction on wet grass.
- Setup ease — installation time and difficulty, from unboxing to first mow.
- App & smarts — scheduling, zones, connectivity, remote control, theft protection.
- Value — what the model delivers relative to its price and to its direct rivals.
The overall score is the average of the six. It is deliberately not weighted, because the right weighting depends on your lawn: someone with a steep bank should read the slope score, not the average.
Where the data comes from
Specifications are taken from manufacturer documentation and retailer product pages, then normalised into consistent units. Where a manufacturer does not publish a figure, the field stays empty and the site shows a dash. We never estimate a specification to fill a gap in a table.
Editorial judgement — the verdicts, pros and cons, and the six scores — is clearly separated from factual specification data throughout the site.
How we're funded
Through Amazon affiliate commissions. It costs you nothing and it does not influence what we recommend. The full explanation is on the affiliate disclosure page.
